Thanks for a great Season Everyone! (The 2008 Final was Catherine Rooney's vs. Toot Our Horns)

This was a 4 week Wiffle Ball Tournament intended to weigh the interest and get a feel for how we (Delaware Sports League) would want to play this game. Well I would say that this has been a success :)

Folks without the help of Peter Capriotti, Jeremy DelMatto, and Erika Kurtz I would not be able to do any of this. This really is a team effort and I want to say thank you to them for all that they do. Those of you that played...do me a favor...when you see them out and about please say thanks to them yourselves.

For now we are miving on to the 2008 Kickball Seasons. I guess it is safe to say that we will see you again next year for the 2009 Season of Delaware Sports League Wiffle Ball.  

Oh, and Toot Our Horns...The 2009 Season is on me. Congratulations on being Champs!!

Wiffle Ball is the game we used to play as kids in the back yard with friends. It is kind of like baseball but with a plastic bat and ball. Because we are a league for everybody we play lob pitch in DSL. This means that we want people to hit the ball, not try to strike them out.

This is a Coed league and therefore you must have at least 4 girls on the team. The team minimum is 10 and the max is 15. Every Saturday  for 3 weeks each team will play a double header of back to back games.  The fourth week is the Playoffs.

A portion of the proceeds of the 2008 Tournament went to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Friends of Team in Training.
