The Road To The ROXIE Awards...
The History of The ROXIE Awards...
This started with an idea for a DSL formal about 3 years ago. I mean there are not enough occasions anymore to get dressed up in a Tuxedo or a gown for uws 20, 30, 40, and 50 somethings and last year we thought we would do something about it!
We kept it pretty close to chest about what this all entailed and what to expect and you can read the comments below if you want to know what last years show was like. Folks that were there this is where you go and tell everyone what you saw...hint hint...
This is not all the info and we obviously have 3 months of planning and letting you in on what we are up to, but this should get you started. We will have pictures and video for you in the coming weeks but this should give you a general idea of what we have in store.

The Awards
Delaware Sports League is about a community and a state coming together to be good to each other, have fun, make new friends, spend time with old ones, do good things for trhe community around us and basically do all that we can to make Delaware a fun, exciting, and friendly place to live.
Every year we want to celebrate all that we have done and all the memories we have created and the friends that we made while honoring a few of those that stand out as well as a few fun awards to make us laugh.
Team of The Year - 2010 Winner Sofa Kings
This award goes to the Team that comes out every week excited to play and embraces the concept of what DSL is all about. They socialize together outside of DSL, Celebrate birthdays, and are good to every team they play against. They are the example of what we want every team to be in DSL.
Team of the Future - 2010 Winner - Sucka Ma Balls
To the newest DSL team from the most recent season that exhibits the most enthusiasm and commitment to DSL and all that it is about. This is a Member Nominated Award.
Community Award- 2010 Winner - Lindsay Ostafy
This award goes to the individual that has devoted themselves to making the community around them a better place. This can be by raising money for a cause, volunteering, community organizing, or a simple act of kindness that makes the community around us a better place to live. This is a Member Nominated Award.
Oh Captain My Captain- 2010 Winner - Chris Connelly
People would write in and let us know why their Captain has been so amazing. It will also depend on how they communicate with DSL as well. Do they get everyone involved, communicate with members, have the right attitude, etc. This is a Member Nominated Award.
DSL MVP- 2010 Winner - Matt Farina
This is an individual Award that is given to the individual that most exemplifies everything that DSL is about both on and off the field. This is someone that plays hard, but does not complain when a call does not go their way. It is someone that makes sure that every other person on their team as well as the other team they are always having fun. It is a person that helps others meet new people and make friends. It is a person that their team and this league simply would not be the same without. This is a Member Nominated Award.
