Hey Everyone!
I got an e-mail this morning and was informed that a couple of Teams were really struggling to find players because of the Flyers playoffs and a number of other reasons. It was thrown out there to see if there was perhaps any interest in starting the playoffs after Memorial Day. Next Monday is Memorial Day and we would have off anyway.
It really only affects 3 teams that have spoken up and I am inclined to proceed with the 3 teams that have not mentioned this to be an issue. That seems to be the consensus at this point so we are going ahead with the other games this week.
Update: 5:30pm
It turns out one of the other teams is now short of players as well due to a work obligation. We want to have a strong tournament so rather than start off with a bunch of forfiets and half strength teams we have decided to postpone until after Memorial Day when we can come back strong and have a great Playoffs!
I know it is last minute, however, I do not want the playoffs to be all anti-climactic because of forfeits due to Philadelphia Sports teams. We have delt with this for 2 years with the Phillies so this is not new territory…NOT THAT WE ARE COMPLAINING!!! GO FLYERS!!!
