WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER...

OK the weather is the bane of our existence. However it is a part of our lives and it is important that you know how to find out if your game is on or off.

Below we go over pretty much everything but one thing I can not stress enough is that your body is your responsibility and you have every right to protect it! If we decide to play and you decide that you do not feel safe  you certainly have the right and the option of saying "No Thanks..I'll sit this one out!" It is your call. Even if the rest of your team is playing and you simply do not want to, we want you to know that it is perfectly OK and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it.

You do you!

What To Do If The Weather People Are Saying Bad Things...

1.) Check the Website for Updates

We will post it on the website if the weather is so bad that the games are postponed before the game time decision. If it is that bad we are not going to make you drive all the way to the fields.

2.) Check the District Website

We do what the school does...if they are off so are we!  http://schoolclosings.delaware.gov

3.) Check Your E-Mail For an E-Mail

We will send you an e-mail to let you know whether it is a game decision or if we will be calling the game early because it is obvious we will not be able to play.

4.) Call The DSL Game Status Hotline At 302-764-6702

There will be a message containing the status of all of the games for that day!
This is only turned on when the weather is looking bad and is updated only when we need to.
It also doubles as a fax line so don't be weirded out if you call and we have not activated it yet and you get one of those weird fax sounds.

No matter what keep an eye on the website for updates. We will keep your captains informed as well.

Sometimes We Have A Game Time Decision For 2 Reasons:

1. A lot of the time "they" call for rain or snow and it doesn't or it only does a little. Man I wish I could be a weather man and when I am wrong no one is mad at me...that is unless you are John Bolaris that poor guy...

2. In the Spring and Summer, if it is not thundering and lightening Kickball in the rain can be a blast!! If there is even a hint of thunder we are not walking onto those fields.

The other thing to think about is that we have to share the field with other groups and it is our responsibility to be respectful of all the other people that enjoy the park and be sure that we do not screw it up for those that play on it after us.

It is ALWAYS YOUR CALL...

It is ultimately your decision as to what you feel comfortable doing. If you do not feel safe playing in the rain or driving in the snow (dodgeball) you DO NOT have to do so! It is completely your call.

Like I said earlier, keep an eye on the website. We will update that to help you see whether or not we are planning to play. If we do not play, we will see you the next week.

We will let you know as soon as possible with how we decide to make up the games.
