How To Register For DSL

I know some people have had some issues logging in on the new website.  This should help you out if you’re still having any issues!

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  1. If you are on a Mac and are using Safari 3 you will need to upgrade to Safari 4
  2. If you have not created a New Login for the Site You will Need to Do So.

Create A DSL Login For The New Website:

First and foremost, in order to register for any upcoming sports, you must first create a Login for the new Delaware Sports League Website.  From the Delaware Sports League Home Page, click the Login Icon, which is near the top of the screen by the picture slideshow.

From here you have two options for how to Create a Login:

 1.  Connect With Facebook- This is the easiest option for creating a new DSL login.  If you have a Facebook, just click “Connect With Facebook”.  This way you don’t have to create a new user name and password, it’s already there for you!  All you’ll have to do is fill out a few boxes of information about yourself such as your email address, t-shirt size, etc.

 2. Create A New DSL Login- If you don’t have a Facebook account, or don’t want to connect through Facebook, you will have to create a new DSL account.  To do this, after you’ve clicked “Login” on the homepage, you’ll have to create a new User Name and Password for your DSL account.  Just fill out all of your information in the boxes that the system asks you for (Name, Email, Password, etc.)

On the page it goes over why you would want to connect with Facebook, what to do if you don't want to or don't have one and other Frequently asked questions.

After you Create a Login:

The next step after you create a login will be to choose the game and location in which you want to play. I mean you have to play somewhere and we have 4 locations statewide!

Choose Your Location:

DSL is one big statewide sports club, but we have 4 locations at the moment to make sure that you find a league that is convenient for you.  If you aren’t too sure which game you want to play, but know what location you want to play at, simply click the “Locations” tab at the top of the Homepage.

Here you’ll see a list of our different locations.  You can simply click the location nearest to you or the one you are most interested in playing at, and you’ll be taken to that location’s homepage.  Here you can find the current games being offered, the most recent games that have been played, highlights, and any events or trips associated with that location.  Most importantly, for registration, you’ll be able to leave comments, ask questions, or whatever your heart desires!  If you take a look at the section that says “Games,” you’ll see a list of the current games being offered at your chosen location that are available for registration.

How To Register For A Game:

If your already familiar with Delaware Sports League and have created a login on the new website, your going to want to go to “Current Games.”  You can find that directly on the Homepage of the site right next to “Breaking News.”

In the “Current Games” section of the website, find the game and location that you want to play.

Once you choose the specific game you are interested in, it will take you to that game’s homepage.  Once you’re there, take a look at the box on the bottom of each game homepage that says “Basic Information".

There you can see all relevant information pertaining to the sport you’re interested in such as where it’s being played, what times, what days, etc. In this box you will see "Register Now" and depending on when you  are trying to register you will either see "Pre-Registration" or “Regular Registration.”  This is the link you will need to click if you are trying to register for that game.

Once you’ve made it this far and have clicked on “Regular Registration,” you are almost there!

All you have to do now is choose how you want to register.

You’ll be given four options to Register:

1. I Want To Create A Team:

Provided that there is enough space in the league, anyone can create a team.  You do not need to be a business or a former captain.  The only thing you have to do is have a desire to get your friends together and play one of our sports.  As a thank you to *active members for participating in our sports, we always give them a pre-registration period before new members have the opportunity to register.  This means they will generally get one week of pre-registration at a discounted rate before any new member or anyone else can create a team for a new season.  We call this the “Pre-Registration Period.”  Any active DSL member has the right and is encouraged to create a team of their very own.  The friendships that have been made because of people who have decided to create a team are part of the immeasurable value that DSL provides to its members.  We encourage anyone to create a team and/or be a team captain.

Note: Anyone can create a team once regular registration is open.  Pre-registration is open only to active DSL members, however once regular registration goes live, anyone (member or not) can create a team.

Want to be a sponsor and have your business name be your team name? Click here!

2. I Have A Team Password:

One of the things with the old site was that Captains always had to send out and save a link for people to join their team.  With the new website, we wanted to change this and make it a little easier for everyone to register.  All you have to do now is have a team password, which your team captain or whoever creates your team will get to choose themselves.  Once they’ve chosen this password, all they have to do is share it with the rest of the team so they can type the password in after clicking “I have a team password.”  We didn’t want people to have to search around for a link every time they wanted a teammate to register.  With this, simply type in you team’s password and you are good to go!!

3. I Want To Join An Open Team:

If you don’t have enough people to create an entire team, and don’t have a team password, you have the option to join an open team.  If you choose this option, you’ll see a list of teams who have registered their teams as an open team.  You can look through these teams and see if one of them is a good fit for you, and then simply click on the team that you want to join and you’ll be placed on that team.  This is a great way for people who are new to DSL to get the chance to meet new people and make new friends.

 4. I Want To Join and Be Placed On A Team:

So you don’t have a full team, don’t have a team password, and couldn’t really care less what team you play on as long as you play??  This is probably the option for you!  Simply choose “I want to join and be placed on a team,” and you’ll be registered for that game.  We’ll then go into the system, find a team that’s good for you, and place you on it.

Once you have made your choice you will fill out your Credit Card Information and click th Register Button and you will be good to go!

ONLY CLICK THE REGISTER BUTTON ONCE!! Be patient, don't get trigger happy. It could result in your card getting charged twice and that is just a pain for everyone!

You will recieve an automated Welcome e-mail a few minutes later.

Once you have completed this step you are all done...
