Where Do You Want to Play?

Dodgeball-Rush-(1).jpgDelaware Sports League Dodgeball is an indoor game generally played in the Late Fall & Winter. If you have ever seen the movie or if you can remember back to 4th & 5th grade you have got the gist of it. It's adults running around a gym throwing bouncy foam balls at each other and trying not to get hit in the process!

We Do it Our Way...

As with all our sports we have taken the time to listen to our members and build a league that fits OUR needs. We do not follow NADA rules or anything like that. Nothing against organized competitive Dodgeball or anything, we just kind of feel like we want it to be our thing and as relaxed as possible. I mean, it can get competitive out there at times depending on what league you are in, but after 3 years I think we are helping everyone learn that it is the people that make a game...not the game! If we decide to take it less seriously and play for the fun of it rather than the thrill of the win then we can really have some fun out there! You wanna know what? Each year we are getting better and better.

It's A Coed Team, but Guys Play Against Guys & Gals Play Against Gals...

Team-Awesome.jpgWe have tried it both ways, and sure a completely coed game can be a ton of fun! However, at the end of the day we just feel that it makes it a little less intimidating for the new gal who has not played dodgeball in uh...10 (ahem)...years. We also feel it is a little less stressful for the new guy who wants to play his best but really doesn't want to hurt anyone out there and on the other hand does not want to hold back either.

Sure, sure, sure, call us sexist if you want...but at the end of the day we are just trying to keep the game fun and social for everyone, no matter what skill level you are.

Therefore although the teams are coed the games within each "match" are not. Each match consists of 14 games with games alternating between guys games and girls games. For those of you former Math League stars out there that is 7 guys games and 7 girls games.

So while the girls are playing the guys are cheering them on and vice versa. It simply makes for a more social game and so far we are loving it!

Please, Please, Please Don’t Take DSL Too Seriously!

We work very hard to make sure it’s a fun and relaxed league. In just the 3 short years that we’ve been around, everyone in DSL has embraced this concept and that’s the kind of league we want and that we have. We have two levels. We call them The Lincoln and The Roxie Divisions (named after Bobby D's dogs). The Lincoln Division is for our more experienced teams and our bit more competitive teams. The Roxie Division is where everyone starts out if you are a new team no matter what. It helps to remind us that no matter what league you are in it is still just Kickball!

Brian-People-Website.jpgIt's About The People...Not The Party.

As with all out splorts after the games, everyone goes back to our Feature Sponsor Bar that night and enjoy some delicious ice cold Bud Light and Games After the Games Sponsored by Delaware Lottery. For the record if beer is not your thing have a glass of Diet soda, water, juice, whatever is your style...its about the people not the party.

We'd love to have you and to those of you that are returning...Welcome Back!!
