Bob's role has changed over the past few years. It used to be that he literally did everything! Now he has so much help from all the wonderful people you see on this page!

Now Bob's role is a bit more on the creative side and he generally deals with:

  • Managing The Sponsorship Relationships
  • Handles Sponsorship Sales
  • Creates New Social Programs Such as Cocktail Class, Mystery Wine Game, and Lunch Bunch
  • Creates Relationships with Organizations to bring New Sports Programs such as Volleyball & Basketball With The YMCA and The City of Wilmington.
  • Creates Events Such As Field Day, The State Tournament Series, and The Annual ROXIE Awards
  • Updating the website

If you have any questions regarding your membership or membership in general please contact Erika Kurtz...
You can meet her below!

That being said, Bob is a very hands on kind of guy and never turns away an e-mail or phone call. He always says "I am not THAT kind of President..." Anyone who knows him knows he is a very approachable guy and that he loves when members come up and introduce themselves, share ideas, thoughts and concerns. He will always see all correspondence and is ultimately in charge of making all the final decisions.

Bob takes the mission and core values of the league very seriously and in the end he will go to great lengths to protect his members and the promise that DSL has made to every one of them that this is and always will be a league dedicated to making friends and having fun LONG before it is about being competitive.

Bob lives in Wilmington with his wife Amy and their two dogs Lincoln & Ellie. The Conferences in Wilmington are named after the "babies" as Bob and Amy call the dogs. The Roxie division is named after his dearly departed dog Roxie that passed away in December of 2008. In their free time Bob and Amy love hiking in the State Parks, Going to The Beach, Cooking (Bob's favorite hobby) and Spending Time With Friends. Bob always says that DSL is nothing more than an extention of his personality. He always says that he "is nothing more than a compostion made up of the beautiful symphony of people that have touched his life. And DSL, is his way of sharing those blessings with the world." Anyone who knows him, knows this is true.

If you want to be a sponsor or get involved in the league as a partner simply contact Bob at anytime. He warns that if you want to be a sponsor, first check and be sure that you want to do so for the members and because you believe in what we stand for. That's the best way to effectively reach our members and to make your advertising valuable both to you as the sponsor and to our members.

DSL has always been run by the members who stepped up in the beginning and worked hard to make it the success it is today. Erika has been a friend of Bobby D's since middle school and from Day 1 she has been a fanatic about this league! Early on Bob realized how committed she was to DSL and he asked her to be a part of the "inner circle" as we call it. Erika's role with DSL has grown throughout the years and she has become an increasingly important part of what we do...especially to the members!

No one except Bobby D is a full time employee of the league. Everyone has a life outside of DSL, just like all of you. Erika is the CEO of New Moon Rugs located on Delaware Ave in Trolley Square. It was started years ago by her parents and as Erika grew up it became obvious that her commitment and talent would soon lead her to take over the business and take it to new levels. Erika's work constantly has her traveling all over the globe and it is not unusual for you to get a late night response from her from somewhere in Asia or The UK!! She's all like "I'm e-mailing you from Thailand..." and we just shake our heads and laugh.

Her commitment to community and the pursuit of fun is what drives her to be part of DSL despite her very busy role as CEO of New Moon Rugs. We owe her a debt of gratitude for the wonderful job she does making sure that you, the members, are always taken care of.

Erika's role with DSL is to:

  • Answer Membership Questions, Concerns, Complaints, and Compliments
  • Help You Manage & Make Changes To Your Account
  • Help You Post Your Charity Events
  • Basically Anything You Need Associated with Your Membership!

Let her know what you need and she will get back to you within 24 hours!
