I started out in the hospitality industry when I was 17 years old. I worked in the industry for 10 years. I was a TERRIBLE server! As bartender I was so so. As a host I was a complete failure.

However I never stopped loving the industry. This Package is designed to help the people in your area experience your restaurant in a completely new way.

The one thing that never left me is my love for the hospitality industry. I have so many friends that are chefs, bartenders, servers, and managers.

No matter what, we all share a love of food, wine, spirits, and hospitality. I want to share that love with all of the members of Delaware Sports League. I want them to learn the hard work that goes into preparing for a dinner shift. I want them to know the art and creativity that go into creating dishes and drinks. I want them to learn how to make a Cosmo or a Mojito.

Who knows, maybe they will have a greater appreciation and when they actually come in for dinner they will appreciate all that goes into doing what you do, night in, and night out.
I want to share with our members my love of wine and help them learn about it and enjoy it for themselves in a less expensive and more fun way than they ever have before. I want to give them a chance to learn about wine together and to try new things.

Sometimes we just don’t want to eat alone and we want to encourage people to come out to lunch and try new places while meeting new people. Each week we want them to have one lunch in particular that they look forward to because they know they are going to get a great meal, at a great price, and sit with a great bunch of people and it is NOT a business lunch.

The idea behind all of this is to get people socializing in ways that they never have before. Happy Hours are not enough anymore. Sure, there will always be a place for Happy Hour, but we need to keep things fresh and we need to constantly be coming up with new ideas to get people together to meet one another, have fun, and celebrate with us the things we love.

I truly believe that if we work together to promote these programs and we work together to make them a success, then we will have done a wonderful thing for the people that experience these programs. The only way that we are going to do it is to do this together…and those of you that know me best…know I would not have it any other way.

How To Get Involved

Generally Speaking Participation In The DSL Hospitality Package is something that a restaurant is invited to be a part of by Delaware Sports League.

However, any restaurant can apply to participate in the Package by filling out the following Application and sending it to: bobbyd@delwaresportsleague.com
